Mason's Court - Stratford-upon-Avon

Today, Sue and I went to Stratford-upon-Avon and had fun browsing the shops looking for Christmas presents. I particularly enjoyed the art exhibition, where I saw loads of great original work and chatted to the artists. On the way back to the car I took these images of Mason's Court - an open bay house typical of the medieval period and similar in design to Bayleaf House at the Weald and Down Museum.

I have taken images from the front and right hand side to show the timber frame construction. The brick infill is not original.

Shrewsbury Steam Rally - part two

One of the highlights of the Shrewsury Steam Rally was the Sentinel Historical Society tent which had a display of models, books and photographs on display.

I was particularly impressed by the wide range of literature and spotted this SKODA - SENTINEL pamphlet. Given my on-line name I thought Dampflastwagon was great fun to find.....

Earlier in the day a series of three new photo albums had been donated and here are some of the images from the first album. I believe that these are the first time these images have been seen on-line.

The second and third album showed images of the WW2 period and were mainly stills of the different production lines and factories.

Another Dampfwagen SKODA - SENTINEL

And finally this beautiful model of the LMS 7192 Sentinel. The owner was very pleased to pass on information and show work-in-progress shots of this huge battery operated model.

Shrewsbury Steam Rally

Last weekend, Sue and I visited the Shrewsbury Steam Rally and here are just some of the photos I took. It was a great day out with loads to both see and do. I would recommend it.

I'm sure I will be adding more images soon.

Testing a new LED light set up

Earlier today I purchased a new LED lamp and set about testing it with my light table set up.

I am using my Minolta Dimage Z1 camera 3.2 Mega Pixels with camera set to Macro and varying the light effects and in the case of the last image - the background.

Image 1 - New LED set to cool (daylight) setting.

Image 2 - Same set up but light set to warm light.

Image 3 - Same set up but without new LED light.

Image 4 - Cool LED light set up but with green background.

I think the new light works better with greater clarity and colour definition.
