Dampf's Modelling Page celebrates 16th anniversary

Earlier this week my Dampfpanzerwagon Blog celebrated the sixteenth anniversary. It doesn't seem that long ago that I thought I would record my modelling experiences in a Blog but here I am and still blogging! I'm well aware that posts are not as frequent as past years, but I am still posting and very grateful for all the followers, readers and comments.

Thank you.

Painted Panzerfauste Buildings

Some time ago I came across these painted examples of buildings I had sculpted for the game Panzerfauste. The images were shared on the Burrows & Badgers Facebook page. I asked if I could re-post the images on my Blog and was pleased when Bob Langleff agreed.

You can find more information on these models by going to this link or this earlier Blog post.

These two buildings were painted by the very talented Mike Lally. You can sometimes find examples of these resin buildings for sale on ebay.

Enjoy

The Improved Emperor's Guide to Tamreil

Earlier this week I bought this beautiful faux leather art book called The Improved Emperor's Guide to Tamriel with a Christmas book token. The book is jam packed full of illustrations that just scream out to me modelled as wargame terrain and I am looking forward to sketching some very soon.

These two images, show just some of the content. There are hundreds of pages showing art from the computer game Skrym.

Thanks Mum for the book taken - it has been well used.

More secondhand magazines

These magazines were picked up earlier this week. Sue and I were returning from a couple of days down in Swansea and I bought these in a charity shop in Ross on Wye when we drove home. Another bargain at just 50p each.

A Roman Onager for Pax Bochemannica part two MW issue 491

Issue 491 of Miniature Wargames (March 2024) has part two of my two part series showing how I first built and then painted my extremely rare model of a Roman Onager (ass or catapult) for the game Pax Bochemannica. The model was built following plans found in the now out-of-print book Airfix Magazine Annual 6 and painted using a number of painting techniques to reproduce the exposed wooden structure. In addition I used matt, satin and gloss varnish to differentiate the different materials used in the original.

For more information issue 491 of MW is now available to purchase or you could check out this link.

Secondhand Magazine Haul

I've been very successful finding secondhand magazines this last couple of weeks - all have come from charity shops in and around Worcester with prices ranging from 20p for the Model Boats magazine to £1.00 for each of the Railway Modeller. The latest was picked up earlier today - FlyPast was bought in Malvern for just 99p.

I now have quite a bit of reading material for the half term period and look forward to re-cycling them back to the same charity shops once they have been read.

Some of the very best re-cycling there is.
