West Midlands Military Show 2019

After an early start, Sue and I arrived at The West Midlands Military Show around 8.45 and I proceeded to carry in all the bits for the display. Unlike last year when the snow had such an impact on the attendance, this year there were lots of customers waiting for the 10.00 entry.

We had a great time at what I believe is one of the friendliest shows on the circuit and I was able to display both the new Pen & Sword book Wargames Terrain and Buildings The Napoleonic Wars which arrived with me yesterday and show off all of the models that feature in the book.

For details of how you can order a copy at the introductory price of just £11.99 see this link. Please note that I am not selling this book via my Blog. If you want a copy please go to the Pen & Sword Web page.

Sue took this photo of me with the very first copy.

And here you can see Sue 'manning' the stand while I took time to browse the other exhibits and spend my pocket money.

Here you can see the length of the table, showing models for sale, models from my three earlier self-published books, a display of the P&S models and finally some models that have featured in various modelling and wargaming magazines.

Below you can see some of the photos I took at this years show.

We had a great time at the show.

Wargame Terrain & Buildings - NOW AVAILABLE

Earlier today and just in time for The West Midlands Military Show Alumwell that takes place tomorrow, I received my first copy of WARGAMES TERRAIN & BUILDINGS - The Napoleonic Wars written by me and published by Pen & Sword.

It's been a while coming but I am very pleased with the new book (The Blue Book) which I have added to my three earlier self-published books.

For details of how to order a copy (at the reduced introductory price of just £11.99) see this link.

My plan is to have the book on display at the WMMS - Alumwell with all of the buildings that appear in the book so you can see the articles and the models.

Flintloque Undead - part two

Nine Flintloque miniatures modified and based on to 2p coins.

The first four are to add to my Headless Zombies, see this link for more details.

They are (from left to right) a Deadloque Elf, an Undead with axe, an Ogre and another Deadloque Elf. I first cut off their heads and then drilled out the necks with a Dremel before tidying up the collars with green stuff.

The final five are all from the Deadloque set and were purchased via EBAY. I have extended their shako plumes with green stuff over a paperclip wire former.

Flintloque Undead - an On-Line Build for March 2019

It's been some time since I have painted up some Flintloque miniatures - earlier this year while browsing EBAY I saw a batch of 11 mixed figures that I was able to purchase for just £1.99 (they had been mis-labelled as 40mm and not Flintloque or Slaughterloo). I have chosen these seven minis to base and paint up as Undead and over the next couple of weeks, you can follow my progress here on the Blog.

WMMS, Alumwell - just one week to go

Just one week to go to this years West Midlands Military Show, Alumwell. I'll be there with a table of exhibits and hopefully we will not have any of the bad weather we experiences last year.

The Market House, Newent, Gloucestershire

Earlier today, Sue and I visited Ross on Wye and had a great day walking around the town centre. On the way back home we had a picnic of warm faggots and freshly baked bread in the small market town of Newent.

I took advantage of the cloudy sky (dispersed sunshine) to take these images of The Market House, Newent.
