Painted Panzerfauste Buildings

Some time ago I came across these painted examples of buildings I had sculpted for the game Panzerfauste. The images were shared on the Burrows & Badgers Facebook page. I asked if I could re-post the images on my Blog and was pleased when Bob Langleff agreed.

You can find more information on these models by going to this link or this earlier Blog post.

These two buildings were painted by the very talented Mike Lally. You can sometimes find examples of these resin buildings for sale on ebay.

Enjoy

Official Panzerfauste Resin Building For Sale on Ebay

I was recently informed that this set of resin buildings for Panzerfauste were available for sale on Ebay. For more information, see this link.

The masters for all these and others were sculpted by me and were for some time available via Hysterical Games but are now no longer available and I'm not sure where the moulds or masters are. If you are interested, you had better act fast.

Pax Boche Themed Month - part eight

Painting has progressed quickly with the flesh areas built-up over my usual Snakebite Leather base highlighted with white added to the mix and then 'washed'.

The red tunics were painted in the same way as the earlier Orc Legionaries and the small detailing done with a Winsor & Newton sable brush.

Panzerfauste Terrain - The Gnomish Bakery

This latest Blog post shows a painted and varnished Gnomish Bakery - a model that was sculpted and modelled by me for the Fantasy/WW2 game Panzerfauste, for more details of the buildings I have produced for this game, see this link.

The model has been slightly modified and is the original resin casting (the master was destroyed in the initial mould making process), the production mould is slightly different, and cast in a smoother and more easily worked resin.

I filled-in the open oven to the side and spent time re-modelling the roof tiles which were also damaged on the initial casting (but repaired on the production mould and models).

I believe that they are still available to purchase and would suggest you contact Steve Blease via this Blog should you be interested in purchasing this or any of the other pieces of themed terrain or some of the superbly cast resin miniatures.

The Panzerfauste project has had one or two issues since Hysterial Games closed down, but I am also aware that Steve is doing all he can to fulfil the Kickstarter pledges and is sometimes seen selling models at various wargame shows.

The model bakery was painted in acrylic paints over an off-white basecoat and then varnished with Galleria Matt Varnish before being finished off with some dyed sawdust scatter material glued over PVA glue. The Flintloque miniature was painted at the same time and gives an idea of the size of this small piece of terrain.

The model Bakery is 80mm x 80mm x 110mm tall (to the top of the chimney), it is mounted onto an integrated base 100mm x 100mm.

More resin from Hysterical Games

Another post and another look at some of the new resin casts that Rob Alderman of Hysterical Games has produced for me from my originals. These particular resin pieces were original intended as 'clutter' items for the bases of my scratch built terrain models, but I'm sure you can twist Rob's arm should you want a set (or two).

The first image shows some barrels, all of which were sculpted or modified by me from some earlier sculpted models I had made. The image below shows a book case, lots of small bottles, pots and pans which were once again modelled by me and intended as clutter. Should these and the earlier mushrooms prove popular, I can see me producing more.

Happy Bank Holiday.

Mushrooms from Hysterical Games

Following hot on the heels of yesterdays post, here are some resin mushrooms that I picked up from Rob at Hysterical Games earlier this week. The mushrooms were sculpted by me for use as decoration on the bases of Hysterical Games Panzerfauste miniatures and the Olde Hammer Apocalypse Miniatures Terrain Kickstarter.

Uses for resin mushrooms;
1 - Toadstool Decoration for wargame terrain - adding the small mushrooms to the bases of fantasy terrain or large individual miniatures and painting them as traditional red with white spots mushrooms would add colour to most fantasy terrain.

2 - Mushroom Mines - small batches of three or five mushrooms on a small plastic base could be used as minefields in Panzerfauste. Any model that was within 10 cms of the mushrooms when the mines go off could be effected by the explosion. Death, sleep of or vomiting could be the effect/effects.

3 - Fungi as Food - Use the resin mushrooms as objective markers in fantasy games, Goblins and Orcs would collect tokens which could be objectives in the game.

I cannot find the mushrooms on the Hysterical Games web site, so contacting Rob Alderman at Hysterical Games would be the best way forward should you want a set or two.....

Troglodyte Terrain pieces for Panzerfauste

These are some painted examples of the Troglodyte Pillar terrain pieces for Panzerfauste. The originals were sculpted by me some time ago and then cast in resin by Hysterical Games.

The models were expertly painted by Hannah of Hysterical Games and although I would not have thought about using a purple wash, I think they looks fantastic and very atmospheric.

At this moment the models are not available to purchase via the Hysterical Games webstore, however if you were to contact Rob (or Hannah) of Hysterical Games I am sure they would supply more details.

The images were used with permission.

Although the models were designed for Panzerfauste, I am confident that they could be used in many different game settings and genres.

Panzerfauste Terrain - update

I have just received the latest resin model in the Panzerfauste Troglodytes series. Another Dwarf Pillar, this time with a wooden shack to the side.

This is the fourth model in the Pillar series (two of the earlier ones are in the background) and should be available from Hysterical Games very soon. This earlier post gives more details.

While the image below shows the model from a different angle.

Ruined Dwarf Pillars for Panzerfauste

Earlier this week Rob Alderman of Hysterical Games gave me these pre-production resin castings of Dwarven Pillars, ruined Dwarven Pillars for the game Panzerfauste.

The original masters were produced by me earlier in the year. I used Plaster of Paris to cast up four perfect pillars and then proceeded to 'ruin' them as dictated by Steve Blease (one of the partners of Hysterical Games who commissioned these Skogtroll terrain pieces).

Image One (above) - Shows the most complete of the four pillars it stands 150mm tall on a base 110mm x 110mm.

Image Two (below) - Is a more ruined and collapsed version (my favourite of the four and was built from a damaged Plaster of Paris master). The model is 90mm tall on a 130mm x 150mm base.

I have designed the first two models to be used as generic terrain pieces for many different gaming systems/genres. Hopefully I will have these painted and ready for play very soon.

Image Three - Is another ruined pillar with a WW2 era concrete bunker to the side. As you can see this one has suffered some damage to the roof of the bunker during mould making (a case of using too much pressure when applying the silicone rubber?) I will be working on this pre-cast to repair the damage and hopefully the repaired and finalised model will be ready for sale very soon.

The final model and not shown here is another ruined pillar with a wooden shack to the side. As stated, I am hopeful that these will be available for sale very soon.

For details of the Panzerfauste terrain range - please see this link.

I hope you like them.

Tony

UPDATE;
Troglodytes not Skogtroll. Thanks Rob.

Panzerfauste Unarmoured

Earlier this week I dropped off some new terrain pieces for Rob Alderman to mould and cast in resin - the plan is that a new Oldehammer Kickstarter will be launched very soon and these new terrain models will be available to buy. I also picked up a couple of finished Panzerfauste Pillars (more on these in a later post) and a copy of the 32 page mini-guide Panzerfauste Unarmoured the starter set.

I spent most of last night reading through these simple starter rules and although Panzerfauste is not one of my core game systems, I was impressed by how simple and well laid out these starter rules are.

The booklet has a card cover and 32 pages in total - the layout is black text on A5 coloured and watermarked paper and follows the tried and tested route of text, some (fantastic) images and examples of play. I think the physical rule book was easier to understand than the on-line edition (well at least to this old dinosaur) and the GUTS system was very well described. I think I've got it!

Panzerfauste Unarmoured written by Steve Blease and Matthew Hartley, published by Hysterical Games Ltd.

If you want a copy - try contacting Hysterical games on this link.

Gnome Snail Farm Barn

Here is one of the Panzerfauste resin buildings that I sculpted some time ago. It was originally called the Snail Breeding Barn, but is available to buy from Hysterical Games as the Gnome Snail Farm Barn, for full details of the range of figures and scenery please go to this link.

This particular resin cast was one of the very first 'test casts' and is therefore quite a chunk of solid resin, More recent casts are hollow and have a revised base.

The image above shows an Alternative Armies Rifle Orc shown for scale.

I choose to paint my model in natural stone colours with a blue slate roof. The whole range of themed buildings was commissioned for Panzerfauste but could be used in a wide range of different gaming settings and genres, check them out.

Hysterical Games is run by my very good friend Rob, who recently had the pleasure of visiting and seeing my Shed-at-the-Bottom-of-the-Garden, climbing over boxes of bits and clambering between half finished projects - I can report that he survived the experience.....

Gnome Farm Walls - part six

At last the three Panzerfauste themed wall sections are finished. The originals were sculpted by me some time ago and feature small snail shells which in these images were painted using metallic paints to make them stand out from the grey walls.

For full details of the resin wall sections and how to order please see this link.

Since the last post the walls have been varnished with Galleria matt varnish and the bases have been flocked with railway scatter or dyed sawdust. I have added the odd section of static grass to decorate the models.

The three wall sections were purposely built to be used as themed pieces but also alongside 'standard' resin walls to add variety.

They were a lot of fun to model - "Where else could you find such unique models."

Gnome Farm Walls - part five

The bases or groundwork has been painted in my usual mix of Snakebite Leather highlighted with a Snakebite and white mix. I have tried to paint the snail shells in a slightly different colour with metallic effects to get them to stand out from the grey stone walls.

The groundwork has been 'washed' in the GW Sepia wash, while the walls have been 'washed' with various coloured washes to vary the grey.

Details of where to buy these Panzerfauste wall can be found here.

Gnome Farm Walls - part four

The painting continues.....

I have used metallic gold acrylic paint to highlight the snail shells. I think it works.

The groundwork has been painted in my usual Snakebite Leather, highlighted with Snakebite and white with odd stones picked out in grey and highlighted with more white added to the mix.

The next step is to varnish the pieces and then add some scatter to the bases.

Gnome Farm Walls - part three

The painting continues.....

I've drybrushed some light grey and painted the snail shells brown. The painting shows up the sculpting, but there is still some work to do before I can think about painting the bases.

Gnome Farm Walls - part two

The three based and textured wall sections have been undercoated with black spray paint. I have touched up any bits I missed with some acrylic black.
