The unit was painted in two batches of four minis - the first two started prior to my recent visit to Portugal and the second batch on my return. I find that painting minis in small batches is so much easier.
More to follow but for now, enjoy.

I have not tried for a perfect finish, preferring to make the most of the existing paint scheme and just adding some detail and highlights.
I don't have any more minis from this range and as they are going for silly money over on ebay, I'm not sure there will be any new additions, even so they were fun to base, paint and detail and they didn't cost that much.

Here are four more Flintloque miniatures that I have painted as Spanish soldiers for my Flintloque/Silver Bayonet cross over project. Like the earlier four figures, they were each painted and decorated one at a time rather than my more usual batch painting method and I have to admit that it was more fun.
The final image shows all eight painted varnished and decorated with static grass, tufts and ground foam. All ready for the gaming board.
Over the last couple of months I have not been painting miniatures - I'd lost my Mojo.....
But following some positive comments on this Blog, I have set myself the challenge of painting a group of eight Flintloque Spanish figures for my Silver Bayonet/Flintloque crossover project. The eight based and undercoated minis have sat very patiently on my To-Do shelf for nearly a year. I thought it was time I got around to painting them and using the tried and tested technique of painting just one mini at a time here are the first four painted and finished Spanish.

Sometimes a change is as good as a rest and I've not been painting miniatures recently. These three Warmonger (Foundry) Mercenary Orcs were picked up second hand and re-based and re-painted as a bit of fun - a distraction.
I didn't strip the mini's but just repainted the original colour scheme with acrylic paints and washes. The paint style isn't one that I would have naturally chosen, but they just seem to work. They are based on GW 40mm round plastic bases with simple plain sand bases over Milliput and odd static grass tufts glued in place with superglue.
If you are also wondering what to paint, it is sometimes worth picking up minis that are not part of your main themed armies, but something a little different.

With the final detail painting being done I varnished the whole model and base with Galleria matt varnish and then applied some gloss varnish to the metallic areas before decorating the base with ground foam, static grass and tufts.
I used watercolour pencils to highlight the orange hair and a lead pencil on the metallic areas to give a more realistic shine.

I have now completed most of the painting, just some final detailing and I can varnish the figure.
Painting has progressed well with skin, hair and armour colours being started and having the first highlights and even a couple of light washes.
I chose to use this colour scheme after reading the book How To Train Your Dragon to my grandsons. The illustration is used just to show the colours I want to reproduce and I am not attempting to infringe any copyright but am using it to illustrate how I take inspiration from many different sources.

The miniature was basecoated with a mid grey spray can and then highlighted with a 'zenithal' undercoat using dark grey in the shadows and lighter grey, then pure white drybrush on the upper surfaces.

I used a large saw to slice the stone base into a thin veneer and after sanding the bottom edge, I glued it to a wooden disc that I had in my spares box. The disc is 58mm diameter and 6mm thick.
I built up the flag stone base with some Milliput and then added groundwork from DAS modelling clay which was further textured with sieved stones and sand applied over PVA glue.
These last two images show the models ready for undercoating. You can also see the miscast on the little finger of the shield hand.

I'm not sure if this model is still available from Micro Art Studio's as it does not appear on the current site but images can be found on the internet.
The four pieces are very well cast with slight flash and only one area around the fingertips on the shield hand miscast.

The painted and varnished miniature has now had some static grass and tufts glued to the base.
and another image, this time taken from the rear to show the highlighted fur colour.
The fur was built up over the black/dark brown basecoat and drybrushed with both grey and brown to give a more natural coloured fur. Detail painting was restricted to red eyes, mouth and claws while the base was painted in my usual Snakebite Leather colour (mixed from various leather or brown acrylic paints).
Further drybrushing and washes helped to both define the sculpting and make the fur colour less stark.
The werewolf model was then varnished with a gloss varnish (for strength).....
and then matt varnished.

Not much of an update but I have now basecoated the werewolf with a dark brown/black base. This basecoat was painted by brush over a Tamiya spray can primer.

I used a mixture of both Milliput and Green Stuff to add some musculature and 'body' to the upper shoulders and head then built up the base with more of the same mix.
The base was further textured with some sieved stones and fine sand which was glued in place with PVA glue.
The final image shows the sculpting work to the rear of the model. I used a scalpel blade dipped in water to add fur texture to the miniature.
